The car ride home was filled with the gentle rustling of straw and the occasional soft thump of tiny feet repositioning in the carrier. Today marked a special day at Sulbi Talu – we picked up our newest family member, a spirited 2-month-old rabbit who was about to discover what farm life was all about.

First Impressions
At just two months old, this little guy already has personality in spades. During the short journey from the breeder to our farm, I could hear him exploring every corner of his travel carrier – curious, alert, and surprisingly calm for such a young rabbit making such a big transition.
There’s something magical about bringing home a new animal. It’s not just about adding another mouth to feed or another pen to clean. Each new arrival brings their own energy, their own quirks, and their own way of fitting into the established rhythm of farm life.
Settling In
The moment we opened his carrier in his new hutch, our newest resident wasted no time making himself at home. While many rabbits might cower in a corner for hours or even days, this brave little soul immediately began investigating his surroundings. Fresh hay? Check. Water bottle? Sniff, sniff, check. Food pellets? Definitely check.
Watching a young rabbit explore their new environment is endlessly entertaining. Every shadow is suspicious, every sound worth investigating, and every new texture demands thorough examination with both nose and nibbling teeth. Within minutes, he’d claimed his favorite corner and was already working on rearranging his bedding to his exact specifications.

What’s Next?
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be documenting his growth and integration into our rabbit family. At two months old, he’s at that perfect age where he’s weaned and independent but still has all the playful energy of youth. His ears are still proportionally too big for his head, giving him that irresistibly cute baby rabbit look that won’t last much longer.
The other rabbits in neighboring hutches have already taken notice of the newcomer. There’s been plenty of curious nose-pressing against wire mesh and what can only be described as rabbit gossip traveling up and down the hutch row.
Building Our Rabbit Community
This little addition brings us one step closer to establishing a proper rabbit breeding program here at the farm. While he settles in and grows, we’ll be observing his temperament, health, and overall development to see how he fits into our long-term plans.
For now, though, he’s simply enjoying being a young rabbit with a secure home, plenty of food, and the freedom to hop, explore, and grow at his own pace.
Stay tuned for updates on our newest furry friend as he grows and settles into farm life. What would you name a curious 2-month-old rabbit? Share your suggestions in the comments!
